Introducing the SyncTug: The SyncTug is the process of hard-rebooting the iPod Nano by holding down the minus volume button and lock button at the same time and as soon as it begins to reboot screen flashes black for a moment , you unplug the iPod cable from it. See normally when a user edits a file and disconnects the Nano, the Nano compares the modded file to its current cache and reverts the modded file to its original state, thus removing any mod.
By SyncTugging it, the Nano is forced to boot using this modded file, bypassing this cache comparison. Its simple, but it works! Not Nano's lol. I guess that's why you would want to hack it I personally would if that was the case But the nano doesn't run iOS.
It runs something that resembles a very basic and stripped down version of iOS. So it will be a bit harder to find exploits in since it is very basic and I doubt it even has a Kernel I may be wrong though If it gives you extra clock faces then count me in.. And if we encrypt a different OS with a different key, the iPod cannot unlock it and won't proceed. So yes this is hard to jailbreak. How may one trick the iPod nano that the key is right? Yes, that is all correct from a basic standpoint. I don't know of anybody that has bypassed the key verification.
It is very complicated and is usually only done by expert computer security researchers as it requires vast amounts of knowledge and experience to accomplish such a task.
